At 9:32 a.m. on July 16, 1969, the gigantic Saturn V launched from Cape Canaveral, the most significant voyage in human history. Consisting of three main stages, the giant Saturn V was 110 m tall and weighed 3,000 tons. It could carry a payload of 50 tons and reached a speed of 11.2 km/second. The 394,000 km journey to the moon took 72 hours. After reaching low Earth orbit, the upper assembly containing the Apollo capsule received the boost from the launch vehicle's third stage to achieve flight speed to the moon. Later, the Apollo assembly detached from the rocket, rotated, and pulled the lunar module out of its protective shell. Coupled in this way, this unit made it to the moon and swung into a lunar orbit. After a few lunar orbits, the lunar module with the astronauts N. Armstrong and E. Aldrin on board separated from the command module in which only the astronaut M. Collins remained. The lunar module landed in the Sea of Tranquility with two firings of the retro engine. This historic event will never be forgotten.
