At 9:32am on 16 July 1969 the gigantic Saturn V rocket was launched from Cape Canaveral on the most significant voyage in human history. The huge Saturn V consisted of three main stages. It was 110 metres high and weighed 3,000 tons. It was able to carry a payload of 50 tons and reached a speed of 11.2 km/second. The 394,000 km trip to the moon took 72 hours. After reaching a low Earth orbit the upper part containing the Apollo capsule received the required boost from the third stage of the launch vehicle to attain the speed required for its flight to the moon. Later the Apollo assembly detached itself from the rocket, turned and pulled the lunar module out of its protective shield. Coupled together this unit reached the moon and established itself in lunar orbit. After a few lunar orbits the lunar module with astronauts N. Armstrong and E. Aldrin on board separated from the command capsule in which only astronaut M. Collins remained. - Saturn V model 1.14 m high - Launch platform with supports - Final stage with 5 detailed thrust nozzles - Printed tubular parts made of thin polystyrene strips - Propulsion unit cover - 2nd stage rocket with 5 thrusters - Spacer tube with fire protection ring - 3rd stage rocket with thrust nozzles and spherical helium tanks - Detailed Lunar Module - 1 Astronaut - Separate upper stage of the Lunar module - Lunar module with transparent parts to show the interior - Service module with thrust and control nozzles - Command module with interior and astronaut figure - Rescue rocket on the nose - Optional lunar display base for the various stages of the Apollo mission In addition to basic colours, adhesives and brushes are also included.

Produced by the American company Boeing since 1955 it has been, for a long time, a symbol of the Cold War. It has been, for several years, the backbone of the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command. The B-52 has been produced in a significant number of versions that has gradually evolved the successful project to better answer to the changing in operational needs. The “G” version is the most produced B-52 variant and it has been delivered to the S.A.C. wings from the early 60s. It has been characterized by a large number of changes implemented as a more strong structure, the adoption of new avionic systems and, important issue for a strategic bomber, the longer operational range thanks to the increased fuel capacity and the possibility to adopt external fuel tanks.
