When cargo ships arrive at their destination port after thousands of nautical miles, they still have a difficult section ahead of them. This is where the harbor tugboats come in, taking command and towing the huge ships safely to the dock. The tugboats do not take on any cargo but serve to shift and tow large tankers and cargo ships. The small, robust but very maneuverable ships have a very powerful engines from 250 to several thousand hp. Their command bridges are designed as high superstructures in order to guarantee good all-round visibility for safe navigation through the narrow harbor area, in accordance with their task. The stern, bow, and side walls are mostly reinforced and additionally equipped with wickerwork.
