HELLER -Volvo F12-20 Globetrotter & semi-trailer logs 1/32
The first large modern models of the "80 generation" it was in the autumn of 1977 that the F12 tractors were launched for the traction of semi-trailers, replacing the F89s that appeared in 1970. These models with an entirely new advanced cab benefited from the research that had led to the launch of the N models in 1973. This was especially true of the special high-strength steel chassis, and the elements of the kinematic chain, also improved and reinforced. The serial use of aluminium tanks and leaf springs with a parabolic profile resulted from the need to reduce the weight of the tractor as much as possible in order to increase the market load. On board the F12 the driver's working conditions became excellent, which is essential over the considerable distances of international transport.

In 1950, the official services adopted the project then known as Nord 2500, whose double-beam design with a cargo hold opening by two removable shells allowed the carriage of large loads, unlike its predecessors equipped with a side door. The first Nord 2500 prototype, powered by two 1600 HP SNECMA 14Rs, took to the air on 10 September 1949. As this engine was considered insufficient, the 2000 HP SNECMA\/Bristol Hercules engine was preferred, giving birth to the Nord 2501 „Noratlas“, of which 4 prototypes flew shortly afterwards. Series production of the Noratlas began in 1952 in France, then in Germany after this country acquired the manufacturing licence to equip the Luftwaffe. A total of 426 copies of all versions were assembled in France (239) and Germany (187). The Air Force used Noratlas from 1953. The first planes were christened in Indochina the following year. The last „grey“, the aircraft‘s affectionate nickname given to it by the crews, were reformed in October 1989, after 35 years of good and loyal service, leaving the C-160 „Transall“ in its place for good. The career of the Luftwaffe Noratlas was shorter, and ended in 1971, after the C-160 „Transall“ had fully equipped the three transport squadrons. In its Nord 2502 version, the Noratlas was fitted with two Marboré engines at the wingtips, giving it extra power for take-off in hot Launching took place on 14 February 1939, commissioning on 24 August 1940. The major operation in which the Bismarck took part was „Operation Rheinübung“ in May 1941, together with the Prinz Eugen, to wage trade warfare in the North Atlantic against the Allied convoys. During the battle of 27 May 1941, the Bismarck was hit several times by torpedoes. „HMS Dorsetshire“ hit the starboard side with two torpedoes and another torpedo port side which brought about the end of the Bismarck. The ship sank about 550 nautical miles west of Brest. The keel of the TIRPITZ was laid in Wilhelmshaven on 2 November 1936. Her launching took place on 1 April 1939 and the ship was commissioned on 25 February 1941. Some improvements to the design made the Tirpitz heavier than her sister ship Bismarck and to this day she is the largest battleship ever completed in Europe. “Operation Rösselsprung“ was carried out from 2 to 5 July 1942 against the Anglo-American convoy PQ 17 and consisted of the ships Tirpitz, Admiral Hipper, Admiral Scheer and smaller units. On 12 November 1944, the ship received three direct hits during air raids and sank near shipyard in Hamburg on 1 July 1936. Launching took place on 14 February 1939, commissioning on 24 August 1940. The major operation in which the Bismarck took part was „Operation Rheinübung“ in May 1941, together with the Prinz Eugen, to wage trade warfare in the North Atlantic against the Allied convoys. During the battle of 27 May 1941, the Bismarck was hit several times by torpedoes. „HMS Dorsetshire“ hit the starboard side with two torpedoes and another torpedo port side which brought about the end of the Bismarck. The ship sank about 550 nautical miles west of Brest. The keel of the TIRPITZ was laid in Wilhelmshaven on 2 November 1936. Her launching took place on 1 April 1939 and the ship was commissioned on 25 February 1941. Some improvements to the design made the Tirpitz heavier than her sister ship Bismarck and to this day she is the largest battleship ever completed in Europe. “Operation Rösselsprung“ was carried out from 2 to 5 July 1942 against the Anglo-American convoy PQ 17 and consisted of the ships Tirpitz, Admiral Hipper, Admiral Scheer and smaller units.
