The main features of this new car were the use of a beam frame and a glass/polyester shell, originally manufactured in the Chappe et Gessalin workshops. The location of the 4-cylinder cast iron engine with 5 bearings in the rear overhang allows for effective weight balance. Equipped with two Weber twin-barrel carburetors, the 1600 S model developed 125 DIN HP and reached a speed of 215 km/h. The A110 quickly established itself as the benchmark for rally cars. From 1971, it became the most successful model, winning numerous prestigious trophies, including the famous Monte Carlo Rally. The A110 1660 S was equipped with a Renault 16 TS engine.

The Renault Alpine A110 is a French sports car that was first introduced to the public in 1963. Its mass production began in the same year and lasted until 1974. During mass production, the car was mainly manufactured in Dieppe, France. . The Renault Alpine A110 was developed shortly after the takeover of the Alpine automobile company by the Renault concern. It was to indirectly replace the Alpine A108 model in the offer. Interestingly, in order to reduce the time for research and development and reduce costs, it was decided to use the Renault 8 car, which in its basic version had nothing resembling a sports car! However, after adapting many components, the Renault Alpine A110 was born - one of the best European sports cars of the 1960s! Its reputation is evidenced by numerous victories in car rallies - including victory in the Monte Carlo Rally in 1971. The car was only offered as a 2-door coupe, with engines ranging from 1.1 to 1.6 liters used as power.
