The prototype flight took place in May 1977. The SU-27 aircraft was developed in response to the introduction of the F-15 Eagle into service with the USAF. The SU-27 is a very successful design. Much of its fame is due to the superb Saturn-Liulka AŁ-31F engines, which provide a thrust of 12,500 kg with afterburner on, while being easy to maintain and being right and left interchangeable and vice versa. In addition, unlike many previous Soviet designs, the SU-27 is characterized by a long service life of up to 3,000 hours when checked every 100 hours. This machine is at least comparable to the corresponding versions of the F-15 or PANAVIA Tornado ADV. The SU-27 is usually armed with short-range AA-73 Archer and long-range R-27 missiles, as well as the 30 mm GSh-30-1 cannon used in the MIG 29. The advantages are high accuracy and rate of fire (1500 rounds per minute), the disadvantage is the short service life of the drum, which must be replaced after 80 seconds of firing! The standard SU-27 radar is the RŁPK-27 device. The SU-27, along with the MIG 29 aircraft, are the basic fighters of the Air Force of the Russian Federation. To date, about ten versions of this aircraft have been produced. Noteworthy are: SU-27, designated SU-27S, i.e. the basic version for fighters, and SU-27SK, i.e. the export version. Technical data (SU-27S version): length: 21.9 m, wingspan: 14.7 m, height: 5.92 m, maximum speed: 2.35 Ma, rate of climb: 300 m / s, practical ceiling: 19000 m, maximum range: 3530 km, armament: fixed - one 30 mm GSh-30-1 cannon, suspended - up to 8000 kg of cargo.

["heller","NSAPRIL2025
"option1":"Default Title","option2":null,"option3":null
["Default Title
["//gpmodels.co.za/cdn/shop/files/63-78mm-2025-04-25T164746.121.jpg?v=1745592617","//gpmodels.co.za/cdn/shop/files/63-78mm-2025-04-25T165256.910.jpg?v=1745592792
//gpmodels.co.za/cdn/shop/files/63-78mm-2025-04-25T164746.121.jpg?v=1745592617
Title

Description

The Sukhoi SU-27 (NATO: Flankier) is a Soviet twin-engine heavy interceptor designed to achieve air superiority.
